The product

What it is, and when it earns its place

What we need to quote it

  • The space the rack has to fit
  • What is going on the shelves, and the tallest item
  • How many shelves, and roughly where you want them
  • Whether the room takes damp, which usually points to a coated rack instead
  • Whether you want it delivered loose or fitted

Where it is used

Where this one usually goes

  • Godowns and store rooms

Back-of-house storage where the rack has to hold stock rather than match a fit-out.

  • Workshops and service areas

Benches, frames and shelving that get knocked about and added to as the work changes.

  • Contractors and site stores

Racking put up on site and moved when the job does, where a finish would not survive the handling anyway.

Options

The decisions you get to make

  • 01

    Bay size

Height, width and depth cut to the space the rack has to go into.

  • 02

    Shelf count and spacing

Set from what is going on the shelves, and moved later without stripping the run down.

  • 03

    Coated instead

If the rack is going somewhere it will be seen, the powder coated version is the same frame with a finish on it.

  • 04

    Assembled or loose

Built and installed by our team, or delivered in sections for you to bolt up.

Questions

Iron Angle Racks: common questions

How is this different from the powder coated rack?

Same steel, same bolted build, same adjustable shelves. This one is left uncoated. The coated version holds a colour and takes handling and damp better, which is what the coating is there for.

Will bare steel be a problem in our godown?

In a dry room it rarely is. If the room takes damp, tell us at enquiry stage and we will quote the powder coated version instead — it is the same rack with a finish on it.

Can I add to it later?

Yes. It bolts together, so a bay goes on the end and a shelf moves without stripping the run down or calling a fabricator out.
